Overview

Family Liaison - Ronald McDonald House

The primary point of contact with families for check-in and check out, donations and key interface with the hospital.

Schedule: Will vary based on staffing needs from week to week. Looking for candidates who can mostly work weekends, and overnights. Number of hours per week will vary as well.

Responsibilities
    Maintains assigned area as a welcoming respite for families, providing amenities such as reading materials, clean toys, diversional resources, and fresh snacks.
  • Answers questions and concerns of families, providing education regarding needed resources and other health-related topics.
  • Coordinates with hospital departments to ensure families have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Assists families with the use of available department amenities and services.
  • Collaborates to plan and implement departmental events and programs. Identifies opportunities for the growth and improvement of the family experience.
  • Provides volunteer training and coordinates volunteer involvement.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent work experience in similar program.

Experience:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, friendly, compassionate, and able to relate to diverse groups of people.
  • Superior problem solving skills, judgment, and ability to keep a level-head in stressful situations.
  • Multi-tasker who is self-motivated and able to perform a variety of job responsibilities, from leading volunteers to assisting a family to performing minor housecleaning and repairs.
  • Excellent dependability for covering the shift.
  • Experience with compiling / monitoring written and statistical reports via computer systems, and attention to detail through administrative processes such as checkin/checkout and data entry for House functions.
