Seeking a Microbiologist- Administration Assistant, to support administrative research projects and scientists with reports, graphs, and communication with other organizations, as needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Work requires scheduling of ongoing projects related to procedures such as updating Standard Operating Processes, as it pertains to techniques in cell culture, virology, and molecular biology.
  • Assisting in data collection and reports on cell line maintenance and viral propagation.
  • Compile and analyze research data using various relevant computer software applications.
  • Assist with literature research, editing and preparing manuscripts, scientific illustrations, and computer graphics for publication.
  • Perform administrative duties such as assisting in developing policies, procedures and/or methods for laboratory experimentation.
  • Create charts and graphs of microbiology work to be distributed to the scientist.
  • Assist with compiling supply orders for the division.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to understand and utilize scientific terminology in both oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of best practices in microbiological research.
  • Ability to record and analyze results, organize data, and develop reports and summaries of analyses.
  • Ability to meet the reporting needs of scientists.
  • Ability to maintain high standards with the work being performed and maintain awareness.
  • Skill in various computer applications, data collection and entry into the computer software application.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of subjects and information obtained.
  • Ability to network with and provide information to key groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledgeable of scientific terminology, either in classroom or laboratory courses
  • 0-1-year experience utilizing computer programs.

The salary range for this position is $28,000.00-$40,000.00 annually.
