Job Description

Depending on the years of experience of the selected candidate, this position will be filled at the Compensation Analyst 3 or Compensation Analyst 4 level.

DESCRIPTION

The Compensation team within Health Human Resources has an exciting, new opportunity for a Wage Implementation Specialist!

This position utilizes a strong knowledge of UC Compensation and UCPath processes and practices to coordinate with local and systemwide teams across the UC. Responsible for wage implementation programs that include administration, processes, and resources, functions with a high degree of autonomy. Resolves complex issues where audit and analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Acts as the Coordinator for implementation of non-represented and represented salary programs into UCPath. Coordinates communications to targeted audiences on wage agreements, salary programs, and merit processes. Analyze and implement guidance from UCOP on compensation actions and labor relations issues. Work with HTS, UCPath, and UCSDH on implementation. Understands and documents requirements for UCPath. Audit reports, mass paypath files and employee data to ensure quality control.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the compensation functions as well as general knowledge of other areas of human resources.

  • Knowledge to develop and implement compensation programs for client groups and understands how they and other initiatives may impact various areas of human resources.

  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations as well as effective written and verbal communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with client groups and other areas of human resources and complete multiple assignments on time.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with business units and other areas of human resources.

  • Proficiency in Excel, with strong capabilities in using H-lookup, V-lookup, pivot tables, and other advanced functions.

  • Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Compensation Professional credential.

  • Experience implementing and supporting multiple HR applications in a higher education institution.

  • Experience working at the University of California or other higher education institutions.

  • Strong knowledge of UCPath and/or Payroll and Time-keeping functions.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,500 - $151,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.51 - $72.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
