Software Engineer

Position Summary
DarkStar Intelligence seeks a highly skilled Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance multifaceted software systems. Responsibilities include working with processing-intensive analytics, crafting novel algorithms, managing large data sets, real-time systems, and various business management information systems. Candidates will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure software components meet design requirements, document test results, resolve issues, and adhere to software development methodologies appropriate for our operational environment. This role emphasizes hardware/software trade-offs, maximizing software reuse, and integrating COTS/GOTS solutions to minimize new development.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
  • Identify and rectify defects in existing software.
  • Enhance documentation and advocate for improvements in software development processes.
  • Design, develop, and modify software to introduce new features.
  • Facilitate the integration of software into updated systems or operational environments.
  • Develop queries for existing or proposed databases and data repositories.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • Current Full Scope Polygraph
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
  • 4-5 years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent experience (4 years of related software engineering experience may substitute for the degree).
  • Proficiency in Python and Java; additional experience with UI design is advantageous.
