Directs and coordinates fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines and systems | Ensures that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process | Oversees installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water and steam systems | Evaluates mechanical products to determine their cost effectiveness and efficiency | May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions

Major Position Responsibilities
    Maintain the serviceability of plant wide utilities, water, sewer, gas and electric.
  • Responsible for site fire protection.
  • Responsible for site HVAC.
  • Develop Capital Acquisition Requests and Statements of Work.
  • Coordination with suppliers and contractors.
  • Project management of assigned projects.
  • Actively participate in maintaining assigned equipment through preventative and predictive tools.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and develops a sense of ownership of assigned equipment and associated reliability.
  • Serves in a reliability role to assist maintenance group as needed.
  • Monitors reliability of assigned equipment utilizing data driven methods.
  • Analyzes reliability data and implement action plans to improve asset availability.
  • Performs failure investigations of assigned equipment.
  • Champions equipment and maintenance process improvement
  • Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering field required
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a relevant function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
