About the Role

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the overallDirect Import supply strategy and operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity within the Lifestyle Consumer Audio organization. Direct Imports is a strategic initiative for Harman with long term growth targets. You will be accountable for implementing and maintaining effective controls to ensure compliance and promptly address any gaps that may arise. You play a crucial role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support new initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Your Team

You will report to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate Direct Import purchase order placement with suppliers and freight forwarder partners according to customer-requested delivery dates.

  • Identify solutions to reschedule production and evaluate expedited logistics when necessary.

  • Oversee/monitor/assist in the preparation of shipping documents in a timely manner from source documents, taking responsibility for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the transaction.

  • Ensure weekly reporting and period close activities are accurate, timely, and consistent with company policies.

  • Act as the supply chain point of contact to the commercial teams for Direct Import inquiries, updates to delivery schedules, and escalations.

  • Increase adherence to customer procedures and reduction of associated violation fees.

  • Support investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to shipment discrepancies or damages.

  • Manage ancillary supply fulfillment with display/customization vendors, repair centers, and intercompany purchase orders.

  • Drive visibility to the Direct Import business open orders, supply status, and actions required to achieve financial targets in Sales and Operations Planning processes.

  • Propose and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in areas of cost, speed, and quality to achieve internal and external metrics.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or related field

  • 5+ years' experience in international import/logistics across all modes of freight forwarding.

  • Knowledge of incoterms, import regulations and documentation requirements.

  • Proficient in ERP, OMS, and TMS systems, preferably SAP/IBP

  • Proficient with data analysis, reporting, and presentation (Microsoft Excel/Access, Qlik)

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin

  • APICS or ISM Certification

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 10% domestic and international travel.

  • Must be able to work 3-5 days a month in our office in Northridge, CA.

The base pay range for this role is $120,150 - $146,850 + applicable bonus, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
