Kearney & Company is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team supporting one of the Federal government's largest agencies! Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies.
  • Managing sub-task/project plan: prioritize activities, meet established deadlines, work closely with the client and Kearney team, seek out and provide value-added services
  • Driving improvements to achieve engagement goals
  • Working closely with the client and Kearney team and serve as the primary client-facing point of contact for Kearney
  • Demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers).
  • Demonstrating strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines.
  • Directing and reviewing the work of Consultants and Senior Associates.
  • Communicating status of project-related tasks to Team Lead and client.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
  • 15 years of progressive, relevant experience, including six (6) years of experience leading financial management related projects and teams. An additional two (2) years of relevant experience may substitute for the minimum education requirement.
  • Experience working within the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) ERP system and Advana
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, barring any travel restrictions associated with the current COVID-19 environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an U.S. Secret (or higher, such as Top Secret or TS/SCI) security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One of the following professional certifications: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM or CDFM. Experience working with the Federal Government and/or DoD clients
  • Experience in federal/DoD financial statement auditing, financial management, audit remediation, or audit readiness
  • Experience researching and applying FASAB, OMB, and Treasury requirements including OMB Circular A-136, and/or the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM)
  • Experience in federal/DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, and audit readiness
  • Proficient skills in MS Excel

The expected salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
