Laboratory Shift Leader - 3rd Shift

A laboratory located in Arlington, Virginia is seeking a mid-level Shift Lead Manager. This position oversees technical based tasks and laboratory analysis conducted with established protocols and SOPs and directs the work of direct hires and lower-level staff. Additionally, this position will work in coordination with MRIGlobal staff in the technical areas of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), safety, quality assurance, facilities management as well as inventory and equipment database management.

The position involves directing staff analyzing samples in a 24/7/365 laboratory environment. The management of analytical staff will involve directing work assignments, ensuring staff have the necessary resources to accomplish their assigned tasks, and assisting with the professional growth and skill development of the staff.

The position also involves the management of technical aspects of an ISO accredited, CBRN laboratory with established protocols. The ability to perform sample analysis as needed is required in addition to reviewing laboratory data for accuracy and preparing daily reports.

Qualifications:

  • M.S. in specified study area plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or B.S. in specified study area plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a laboratory environment with specific knowledge of CBRN detection technologies including the use of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Experience and technical knowledge to support quality assurance activities including the development of SOPs, risk assessments, Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with technical staff at all levels in a team-based environment.
  • Leadership abilities with strong problem-solving aptitude
  • PC skills including Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to work independently, trouble shoot, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously; well organized, detail oriented, keen attention to detail, and flexible to adjust to priorities.
  • This opening will be for a 3rd shift position (11pm - 8am) Saturday to Wednesday, but subject to change depending on client's needs.
  • Additional weekend and holiday work may be required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to meet the government security investigation requirements, U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
