What You Will Do:

Gannett Fleming, Inc. is currently seeking a Field Inspection Manager to join our Transit & Rail Systems Group for Train Control. As Field Inspection Manager your primary focus will be on train control room upgrade assignments for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) as a contributing member of multi-discipline and diverse technical support team. As such, direct experience, and firsthand knowledge of WMATA operations and track access is highly valued.

You'll work with a team that recognizes that safety, operating efficiency, state of good repair, stakeholder requirements, and risk mitigation drive program success. You will have direct and indirect involvement with planning, engineering, program delivery, testing, and commissioning services to the transit and freight rail industries and offer extensive experience in rail and bus systems, transit facilities, and civil and structural infrastructure.

At a high level, your primary focus will be as follows:

  • Manage, coordinate, and monitor all phases of providing project-related access to the railway environment during revenue, non-revenue, and scheduled shutdown periods for both contractor and WMATA forces.
  • Request and coordinate WMATA-required personnel and equipment for project field activities.
  • Schedule, manage, and coordinate WMATA construction inspectors for contractor field activities.
  • Supervise inspection of contractor construction work, with a primary focus on electrical construction activities, but that may also include civil, structural, mechanical, systems, architectural, and trackwork activities.
  • Provide oversight of contractor compliance with applicable codes, standards, and criteria.
  • Collect, review, approve, close, and archive inspector daily reports.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and report on construction progress.
  • Participate in progress meetings, coordination meetings, and other such management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Follow QA/QC policies and practices and identify possible quality and safety issues within the scope of the project.
Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or ten (10) years demonstrated experience.
  • Five (5) years demonstrated experience in construction inspection and/or electrical inspections related to railroad and/or transit projects.
    • Experience with design-build, electrified environments, and/or audio-frequency train control are preferred.
    • Direct experience with WMATA is highly valued.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with PROCORE, eBuilder, or similar cloud-based project

Employment Status: Full-Time

Salary Range: 120,000 - $170,000

Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
