Vibration and Thermal Testing Technician

Job Description

The Vibration and Thermal Testing Technician is responsible for supporting the Environmental Test Lab Engineer/Manager by accurate and timely completion of general tasks, as listed below, and for fulfilling detailed assignments, which align with Sechan’s company goals.
Position Responsibilities:
• Program and operate specialized environmental testing equipment for various reliability and design verification requirements (vibration, mechanical shock, thermal cycling, thermal shock, salt fog, altitude, wash down, etc.)
• Program and operate data loggers and data acquisition equipment within the Environmental Test Lab and supporting labs
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair to laboratory equipment
• Perform internal Preventive Maintenance (PM) on various environmental test lab equipment
• Coordinate, set up, and conduct environmental testing for support of Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Design Verification Testing (DVT)
• Set up and perform thermal and vibration surveys
• Perform calibration requirements for environmental test lab assets
• Perform technical writing to support test procedures and test reports
• Revise and update standard operating procedures
• Assist in coordinating testing of samples with outside laboratories.
• Provide support in the development and implementation of facility upgrades.
• Escort and work closely with subcontractors and customers
• Develop personal technical knowledge and advanced skills, through specialized classes offered within the reliability testing industry
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.
Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities
• Strong computer skills including near expert skills in most of the Microsoft Office Business Suite
• Mechanical Aptitude with an inquisitive mind
• Strong problem solving skills
Qualifications:
• 2-Year technical degree or equivalent
• Experience with Military and International Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation
• DOD experience is a plus but not necessarily required
• Valid Driver’s License
Work Environment:
• Office and Manufacturing floor; Requires physical capability to work up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Hours 6:00 – 3:30, Monday through Thursday; Friday 6:00-2:30; occasional additional hours as needed
• 9/80 work schedule.
• Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visits to Lancaster facility.
