Summary:

The Data Standards Lead shall provide expert leadership and guidance in performance for DHS DSSS contract. It is expected that this key personnel position shall be responsible for leading the overall efforts to expand the development, implementation, and maintenance of data standards across the Agency's current and future systems. This will be accomplished by identifying key strategies, developing, and presenting recommendation packages including impact assessments, liaising with external offices as needed, implementing the approved data standards, and developing monitoring and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess existing data standards and identify opportunities for improvement or harmonization.
  • Define and document data standards and metadata requirements for key data domains, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish processes and tools for enforcing compliance with data standards and conducting regular audits to monitor adherence.
  • Provide guidance and support to data governance and data management teams on the interpretation and implementation of data standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data standards and best practices, providing training and education to stakeholders as needed.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in data standards and data management, and evaluate their potential impact on our organization.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading and managing data standards initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, data analytics, data management, or a similar field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or at least ten (10) years project management experience.
  • The educational and PM certification requirements may be accomplished by having at least five (5) years of direct experience in planning, executing, and implementing projects, and managing stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years' experience in facilitating success in establishing data standards, data management, and leading the technical and human aspects of data-related projects.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $145,000 per year.
