We are looking for a Learning and Development Manager who will be responsible for the design, delivery, tracking, and evaluation of the effectiveness of corporate training and development programs. The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager will help develop our high-performing teams, align to our cultural values and build upon our DEI strategy. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to lead the design and implementation of learning and development programs that drive company objectives, increase employee engagement, and accelerate performance. This role requires someone with strong organizational skills and the ability to operate in an agile and fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid position based in Herndon, VA reporting to the VP of People.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify training needs and recommend and implement solutions.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive L&D strategies aligned with the company's objectives, focusing on organizational development, people development, and technical skill enhancement.
  • Drive the implementation and evaluation of learning programs tailored to both technical and soft skills.
  • Partner and collaborate with other People Operations leaders and business teams to develop, communicate, implement, and evaluate programs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for training and development programs through digital and in-person delivery methods.
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive learning sessions for employees utilizing various forms of learning.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development across the organization, promoting engagement and employee growth opportunities.
  • Manage the learning management system (LMS) to track training participation, completion and effectiveness.
  • Utilize metrics and data analytics to measure the effectiveness and impact of L&D initiatives, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Support the development, integration and delivery of our DEI learning strategy.
  • Conduct post-training assessments and analyze feedback to continuously improve content and delivery.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of corporate learning & development experience, with at least 3 years in the technology sector.
  • Extensive business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of HR fundamentals.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing learning strategies, organizational development programs, and technical skill development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to develop insights and guide decisions.
  • Curriculum development experience, with the ability to create engaging learning content for diverse learning needs for delivery both virtually and in-person.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining DEI initiatives.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Superior oral and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Government contracting experience strongly preferred.
  • CPTD or similar certification preferred.

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Herndon, VA is $120,000 - $130,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Herndon, VA.
