The Instructor/SME supports the NAVAIR U contract in various locations. The position may be onsite, remote or hybrid depending on the customers' requirements.
Summary:
Lead and coordinate training and development initiatives within the Career Planning and Development Division (CPDD) for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). This crucial role focuses on accelerating learning and training, ensuring both short and long-term mission success within NAVAIR. Utilizing best practices and cutting-edge strategies, the selected candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating training activities, spanning from Command initiatives to skill set assessments, across eight primary sites throughout the United States, reaching a workforce of approximately 30,000 civilians.
The Instructor/SME will work independently on high-visibility and mission-critical aspects of various programs and may oversee less senior staff or be responsible for all staff assigned to specific jobs. Responsibilities include providing learning solutions such as learning strategy and analysis, evaluation, architecture, courseware design and development, as well as simulation and training equipment. The Instructor/SME will also develop specific recommendations and solutions to address naval aviation concerns, support strategic transformation, change management, and mission optimization, and assist in the operations and systems administration of the CPDD enterprise learning management system, Waypoints.
This position requires a forward-thinking individual capable of fostering learning beyond traditional boundaries, empowering a diverse workforce towards technical excellence, and adapting to evolving Command priorities and mission requirements. Collaborating closely with NAVAIR Customers, subcommands, and NAVAIR University (NAVAIRU) colleges, the Instructor/SME will play a key role in enhancing career development across the NAVAIR Systems Command (SYSCOM) workforce.
Location for work is Patuxent River, MD or Mechanicsburg, PA. This position will include onsite work with permissible telework.
