(*) This is a remote position; however, the candidate must reside within 30 miles of one of the following locations: Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Portland, ME; and Washington, D.C.

About the Role/Team

The successful candidate will be expected to guide multiple scrum teams of approximately 15 team members in total toward goals as defined by our product roadmap. As the steward of Product Technology, they will be building the products and features that will differentiate OTR from our competitors and ensure that we continue to provide value and delight to our customers. They will be collaborating with the Digital Channel to define, plan, and implement these market game-changers while removing the impediments to their successful realization. These market-driven solutions will span our authorization system and a myriad of processes/services that provide functionality and value to our customers.

How you'll make an impact

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing guidance aligned with the provided architectural guidelines in the pursuit of customer-focused solutions

  • Responsible for ensuring alignment and accountability for adhering to expected coding practices/patterns, product quality, and development testing expectations

  • Responsible for enforcing automated testing requirements and ensuring they are met

  • Responsible for actively seeking growth and mentoring opportunities for team members to evolve and leverage their talents and strengths

Experience you'll bring

  • 8+ years of development experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Superb oral and written communication skills

  • Expertise in: C/C++, Perl, Python, Shell Scripting (preference given)

  • Leading through direct input and feedback, as well as by example

  • Holding managed personnel accountable to organizational requirements, goals, and expectations

Proficiencies:

  • Server/Daemon development experience with an emphasis on web/microservices

  • Large batch processing for efficiency and fault tolerance

  • Functional and object-oriented design/development experience

  • End-to-end development experience

  • SAFe and/or Agile methodologies

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Salary Pay Range: $162,000.00 - $215,000.00
