Summary:

Designs, develops, tests and evaluates educational products based on current, existing and emerging instructional design (ID) methodologies. This person will work as an Instructional Designer, Developer, and educational consultant to Central Nursing Education and Nurse Educators throughout the department of nursing. The position, understanding different instructional design methodologies, will blend these to create ID work flows that position JHH nursing as leaders in evidenced based learning. This position will be responsible to develop and author e-learning, instructor-led, blended learning programs, web-based and classroom learning products, and asynchronous learning content. This position is responsible for translating all forms of media play into learning products that teach and support nursing's performance-based objectives. This position is responsible to develop evaluations using metrics to quantify the quality and effectiveness of learning and learning products. This position is responsible to design and apply tool and applications to manipulate graphic, media, and web content with the intent of developing learning products and materials

Education: Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, nursing or equivalent earned experience. Professional certification(s) and/or related experience beyond minimum experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years' experience-for-one year education basis

Licensure, Certification: ISD certificate, Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)

Work Experience: Minimum of 6 years instructional design experience preferably in a health care environment. Expertise with all phases of design process, end user training, planning and managing

Knowledge Adult learning theory, instructional design models including but not limited to ADDIE, Successive Approximation Model and Agile. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of rapid eLearning and course authoring tools and graphic development tools. An understanding of SCORM standards as it relates to online learning products and content management. Intermediate to advanced knowledge to design and conduct needs assessment, analysis, and performance improvement planning.
