Description:


eVigilant is currently seeking a Electronic Security Systems Engineering professional with experience in designing and deploying security solutions for our customers'. This position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of how to design and integrate tried and true as well as cutting edge technology to meet our customers' requirements.

You should be an expert in one or more technology sets in Physical Security: Access Control, Video Management (CCTV) and Integrated Systems, Intrusion Detection, and more. Develop and foster vendor relationships, collaborate and work closely with vendors to improve the various solution systems for our customers. Collaborate and work with a team of security engineers and other cross-functional teams to support our customers' requirements and industry best practices.


Responsibilities:

  • Review customer RFP requirements to develop and ensure the security requirements and compliance for the customers' mission is achieved.
  • Work with internal teams to assess and resolve all privacy, network security, and scalability concerns for the customer's system.
  • Write high quality documentation for security system standards and operations.
  • Provide training and work hand in hand with installation and administration teams to deploy the designed security solutions to the customer as required by contract.
  • Continually re-evaluate the systems to ensure they are still effective and proactively assess how new technology developments or changes in the environment may require new solutions
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements for system performance, installations, and sustainment programs and provide recommended improvements per industry best practices
  • Develop project scoping documents, equipment specifications, prepare logic diagrams, panel layout details, battery loading, and device layout details.
  • Planning and design details including engineering concepts, distribution plans, riser diagrams, detail drawings, schedules, specifications, design analysis, engineering reports, etc. with and able to interpret and apply national codes and standards, such as ICD705, UL2050, and various other ISA and IEEE standards.
  • Provide engineering support to all operational staff.
  • Participate in technical discussions and meetings with customers, internal staff, and suppliers.
  • Provide support for project managers from conception through completion in accordance with company objectives and contract requirements.
  • Develop, create, review and approve proposals, including pricing and cost estimates for customers.
  • Attend assigned organizational and customer meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvements, lessons learned and best practices.
  • Perform critical path analysis of project and resource requirements to identify potential project risks and plan for risk mitigation strategies.

Basic Qualifications:


  • 8 years total combined work experience with security systems integration and design
  • 5 years of hands on experience designing and deploying Physical Security Systems
  • 5 years of experience with extensive knowledge of installation processes and materials used in installation of Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection System and Video Management Systems.
  • 5 years of experience creating technical documentation, including design documents and reference libraries.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Must be able to pass USG security screening process.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a government security clearance


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP)
  • CSEIP
  • System Manufacturer Certified (i.e. Hirsch, Bosch, Lenel, Gallagher, etc.)
  • Current NICET Level certificate
  • Active Secret Clearance (or above)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Networking experience and/or certifications
  • Proficient with computer design systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Must be able to work independently and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate and listen to customer needs.
  • A proven track record of safe, timely and successful completion of projects.
  • Outstanding planning and scheduling skills (using MS Project, excel, word or equivalent).
  • A high sensitivity to the Client's needs and expectations.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all involved parties (Client, A/E, contractors, and team members).
