Responsibilities

The role of the Coordinator, Outpatient Milieu is to work with the milieu and act as a resource to Coordinators (CCs) and the clinical team to create the safest, most comfortable, and caring environment possible for clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Ensure that coverage is arranged for being aware of where all assigned clients are and what they are doing at all times. If observing a client leaving the premises, the expectation is to follow them until further assistance can be provided.
  • Ensure client safety by using verbal de-escalation methods to redirect client behaviors and prevent/respond to crisis. Use CPI techniques if client poses imminent physical danger to themselves or others.
  • Oversee completion of daily shift notes for individual clients
  • Facilitate daily schedule including participating in, and providing support to clients, to include but not limited to groups, activities, and events.
  • Assign tasks to CCs.
  • Observe and provides regular feedback, coaching, and training to CCs.
  • Conduct weekly individual supervision with each CC.
  • Conduct bi-weekly CC meetings to discuss operational progress and provide training to enhance staff development.
  • Hold CCs accountable for completing daily tasks and overall job performance.
  • Supports CCs on the floor with escalations or other situations as needed.
  • Audit all operational checklists daily and eMAR
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team Meetings and shares the weekly action plans and information pertaining to clients with the CCs.
  • Assist with interviewing and recommending new CCs in conjunction with HR and Director, Outpatient.
  • Participate in completion of CC Performance reviews with support of Director.
  • Act as liaison across departments to ensure client's needs are meet
  • Take initiative to provide crisis management/interventions and milieu support for both client and staff needs.
  • Practice compliance with all policies, record keeping requirements, checklist assignments, assigned documentation, and any other assigned duties.
  • Remain current and up to date on all trainings and certifications required to maintain employment with Newport Academy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, counseling, psychology, social work or similar preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience working with adolescents and families with co-occurring disorders in a Millieu setting.
