The Mead & Hunt Transportation group's Traffic Engineering and ITS business unit, who focuses on traffic engineering, transportation systems, and multimodal traffic operations, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Traffic Engineer. Responsibilities include:
- Plan and design Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Conduct traffic analysis and design including traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, temporary traffic control, and lighting using MicroStation & Synchro
- Oversee and/or manage projects from small traffic engineering task orders to large-scale multi-modal traffic/ITS projects
- Serve as a client liaison for on-going projects
- Identify potential new markets and service lines
- Track upcoming pursuits and meet with clients to gather intelligence
- Coordinate proposal efforts and assist in technical input to proposals
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, and presentations
- Attend client meetings
- Prepare letters of interest and technical proposals
- Attend technical interviews
- Collaborate with other Mead & Hunt offices in the Southeast, Midwest, Rocky Mountains, and Mid-Atlantic regions
- Travel and overnight stays will be required as needed
The successful candidate will have all of the following:
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant discipline from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least eight years of relevant work experience; and
- PE license in Maryland or South Carolina
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- Thorough Knowledge of MDOT and SCDOT and local agency standards, guidelines, and practices
- PTOE certification
- Proven record of winning contracts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
