This position can sit in Herndon, VA; Columbia, MD; Washington D.C., or Baltimore, MD.

We are adding a Water Resources Project Mangaer for our Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the project manager and technical lead for roadway, trail, and complex projects
  • Overseeing budgets and schedules for various size projects
  • Developing and maintaining client contacts
  • Reviewing and leading proposals including scope, pricing, and financials
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Leading QA/QC reviews
  • Attend client meetings
  • Forecast workload for projects and resource planning
  • Develop design and construction plans, design reports, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Assist with contract administration
  • Travel will be required as needed

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited university
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years being at the project management level; and
  • a PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in MD, DC, and VA within 6 months of start date

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

* Knowledge of MDOT, DDOT or VDOT and local design guidelines and manuals
* Well versed in Roadway design modeling to include cross sections along with grading, drainage & utilities.
* Experience in Drainage, Storm water Management and Erosion and Sediment Control designs and calculations
* Understanding of bridge hydraulics and flood plain analysis
* Experience with the software programs: MicroStation or Autocad, TR-20, TR-55, HY-8, Hec Ras
* Experienced with report writing as relates to transportation projects
* Knowledge of MDE, DOEE or VPDES permit requirements
* Experience preparing cost estimates and construction specifications or special provisions
* Experience in Mid-Atlantic Area to include MD, DC or VA and local governments
* Experience in coordination with various design disciplines, utility coordination and project stakeholders
