Apex Companies, a leading national environmental consulting and services company, is seeking a Senior Estimator to support estimating stormwater projects throughout the nation. Projects typically range in size from $5K to $1M at commercial, retail, multi-family residential and municipal client sites.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Estimating Director, interact extensively with Apex's National Account Managers, Regional Construction Managers and Regional Estimators, to manage proposal creation, project logistics, project performance, and client deliverables. The successful candidate will have a team of Regional Estimators that they will be responsible for managing proposals for uniformity, consistency and quality in addition to meeting strict deadlines.

Your Responsibilities as a Senior Estimator (Stormwater/Utility):
* Manage and develop a team of estimators working on stormwater-related construction bid packages.
* Review proposal opportunities and procure the relevant information to produce comprehensive construction bid packages.
* Review deficiencies identified by Apex personnel to generate construction bid packages.
* Contacting regulatory authorities to discuss aspects of violations.
* Develop comprehensive scope of work to address the clients needs.
* Create bid takeoff to determine quantities for bidding.
* Contacting subcontractors to obtain cost quotes for projects and developing relationships for bidding purposes. Reviewing bids to ensure consistency.
* Obtaining material cost quotes for proposals. Developing and maintaining material pricing databases for bidding purposes.
* Meet client deadlines for proposal development and submission.
* Working closely with a growth team on new client work development.
* Occasional travel (5 -10%) to review projects or continuing education opportunities.
* Actively participate in a culture of safe work practices.

What we're looking for:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
* Must have 4 or more years of experience as an Estimator for construction, stormwater, utilities, erosion control and/or excavation & grading projects.
* Demonstrates high-level of comprehension of construction processes, including familiarity with construction materials and estimating quantities.
* Experience with estimating software preferred.
* Ability to read site plans and develop cost estimates efficiently.
* Possesses a track record of establishing and maintaining working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
* Works well in a team environment and possesses excellent communication skills.
* Hands on management and execution of varied stormwater and related projects, with accountability for project quality, safety and adherence to schedules and budgets.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
* Organized, self-motivated, fast learner, able to multitask and unafraid of deadlines.
* Valid driver's license and a good driving history are required.
* Experience with Deltek Vision is highly desired.
* Stormwater experience is a plus.
