Computational Biologist Genomics

***This position requires an active T1 Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain the clearance.***

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa.

Provide laboratory and scientific support to perform next generation sequencing computational and analytical tools development, comprising the ability to construct high-throughput analysis pipelines for omics data, and to integrate with in-house databases.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Computational Biologist Genomics: $75,000.00

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Computational Biologist Genomics Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyzes large scale and high-throughput genomics datasets generated from Pacific Biosciences, Oxford Nanopore, and Illumina.
  • Builds analytical workflows and tools for automated deployment of bioinformatics analytical pipeline for interpreting NGS data.
  • Assists in developing analytical pipelines code, open-source tools installations and maintenance.
  • Documents and validates bioinformatics and analytical workflows.
  • Upholds data integrity and good research conduct by ensuring protocols and workflows ensure sample processing and data analysis standards.
  • Prepares technical reports and manuscripts for publication, publicly present data upon request.
  • Prepares and provides Informatics Progress Report monthly.
  • Maintains a shared continuity folder for all Informatics Publications/Quarterly Reports.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Computational Biologist Genomics Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • B.S./B.A. in biomedical science/bioinformatics/math/computer related field and minimum of 0-2 years' experience.
  • Strong background in Bioinformatics.
  • Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Multi-task in a high paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
