DESCRIPTION: Patricio Enterprises (PE) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors (PdM SMS) with a focus on the Nett Warrior program, Project Manager Soldier Warrior (SWAR), Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier). PEO Soldier serves as a single acquisition office to support the war fighting needs of U.S. Soldiers by developing the best equipment and fielding it as quickly as possible so that our Soldiers remain second to none in missions that span the full spectrum of military operations.

Primary duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Plans, coordinates, and maintains configuration control processes and documentation.
  • Monitors engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required, and tracks progress of physical and functional configuration audits.
  • Conducts research, development and engineering analyses, design, experimental/hardware development, and system integration in one or more of a wide range of individual soldier related technical areas.
  • Applies professional knowledge of physical and/or engineering sciences, project management and system/component testing.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for all technical aspects of assigned program.
  • Performs top level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Translates military operational and mission requirements (ground, sea, air, and space) into practical system concepts and performance specifications.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.
  • Participates in post awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs.
  • Evaluates design efforts to ensure integration of all the engineering disciplines and adequacy of the analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as needed.
  • Reviews test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.
  • Reviews and evaluates system performance against specification requirements, monitors and assesses field performance, and assesses risk of meeting user and specification requirements.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge in control systems, materials technology, alternative power technologies, thermodynamics of heat transfer and air flow analysis, laboratory and field testing/experimental methods, system of systems integration and analysis, computer-aided design and manufacturing, and integrated product and process development.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Engineering and greater than 15 years relevant experience or BS in Mechanical Engineering and greater than 10 years relevant experience (required); BS in Engineering and greater than 25 years relevant experience or MS Mechanical Engineering and greater than least 20 years relevant experience (preferred).
  • Equivalent or experience commensurate with DAWIA Level III SPRDE certification.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and maintaining configuration control processes and documentation.
  • Experience monitoring engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required, and tracks progress of physical and functional configuration audits.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, reaching, sifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Occasionally lift up to 20lbs.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets. This job required the ability to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing.
