Overview

The Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy (GHSD) is responsible for implementing the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) - the U.S. Government initiative launched in 2003 focused on saving and improving the lives of those suffering from HIV/AIDS around the world. PEPFAR supported programs are implemented in these countries under the leadership of the Department of State and through a multitude of U.S. Government agencies, including U.S. Departments of State, Health and Human Services, Defense; the U.S. Agency for International Development; and the Peace Corps.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing crucial support in various aspects of human resources management and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    Assists with recruitment, staffing, onboarding, performance management, promotion, incentive awards programs, time, and attendance, and leave administration.
  • Develops and maintains basic databases and spreadsheets to track personnel information accurately.
  • Provides administrative support for human resources programs and work on special projects for the directorate as assigned.
  • Prepares communications outlining Human Resources programs, policies, and standard operating procedures for dissemination to staff.
  • Arranges and provides advice, assistance, and implementation of actions regarding official travel to members of the GHSD staff, including both Foreign Service and Civil Service "direct hire" employees, Detailees from other Executive Branch departments and agencies, and contractors.
  • Establishes and maintains office files, including both hard copy and automated disk records.
  • Searches, assembles, and summarizes information as required from office files and documents in accordance with GHSD contract staffing requirements.
  • Assists with contract personnel processes, including assessing and reviewing required personnel contract documentation, accountability of task order managers, initiating and/or developing statements of work, establishing periods of performance, and aligning funding resources.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Must be self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills. Must be in good physical condition and can occasionally travel.

Education and Experience: The following are desirable levels of experience:

  • High School Diploma/General Education Development Test required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen. MODERATE RISK PUBLIC TRUST clearance required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift and/or move parts up to 40lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50lbs
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for many continuous working hours
  • Frequently use arms, hands, and fingers to grasp and move network equipment
  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, orreach overhead when moving network equipment
