Description:

Position Summary
The position supports the development and implementation of pre-K-8 STEM education improvement programs. Responsibilities may include on-site coaching and mentoring of educators, leading and designing job-embedded professional learning activities, curriculum and program development, liaison between the University and schools on program implementation, engaging in outreach activities, and supporting key program elements.

Duties & Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of Pre-K-12 STEM education improvement programs.
Engage in networking events and strategic planning activities for this outreach initiative.
Assist with the development and distribution of marketing communications and resources.
Designs, plans, and facilitates professional development sessions for various STEM education stakeholders.
Provide expertise, coaching, and assistance to the STEM education communities by presenting at conferences and workshops and by writing for related educator publications.
Research and develops educational materials for specified programs and grades.
Develop, review, and revise related curricula for specified programs and grades.
Support, coach, and mentor teachers, school administrators, and learning communities regarding educational and teaching program changes and implementations.
Observe and support classroom teaching to promote teacher reflection and learning.
Works with related Team members, authors, editors, production personnel, and publishers on the development of professional development and teaching materials.
Prepare related reports and findings and makes recommendations for change.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in a related discipline which may include Reading, Literature, Mathematics, Science, and/or Education, along with advanced knowledge of related principles and practices, is preferred.
At least 5 years of teaching experience in the related discipline and education/ grade levels are required.
Demonstrated abilities to communicate and write for students, teachers, and school administrators in a particular discipline.
Excellent communication, organization, analytical, presentation, and computer/pc skills are required.
