As the Supervisor of DI Operations you will work closely with the department manager, radiologists, and department leadership to supervise the imaging technicians and modality workflows, as well as perform routine, surgical, portable, procedures, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting a philosophy to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the technologists within the modality. Participates in the selection, orientation and training of new employees and students. Directs technologists and students in the proper use of equipment, and proper computer skills necessary to accomplish duties to include editing data entering data charge procedures and the use of the PACS. Assists/and or directs technologists and students in the production of quality images. Initiates counseling and disciplinary action in a timely and supportive manner. Monitors the job performance of each employee and assists employees in developing appropriate goals and objectives for individual growth and development. Conducts performance and competency evaluations according to established time frames. Assures appropriate cross training of all employees.
  • Manages the workflow of the imaging modality to ensure the completion of work assignments. Schedules staff to ensure coverage of the work area. Observes and evaluates the quality of care . Maintains adequate inventory of required supplies. Demonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician's orders. Demonstrates cost effectiveness in the use of supplies equipment and labor. Communicates changes in philosophy goals procedures plans and activities of the department and hospital. Ensures a clean environment (rooms equipment etc.) is maintained at all times.
  • Participates in the clinical activities of the department. Routinely performs all the duties of a staff technologist and maintains competency in all areas. Assists in quality assurance programs as requested to enhance job knowledge and understanding.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills (Competencies) necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served. Demonstrates ability to assess and interpret age-specific data about the patients status. Identifies the patient's age-specific needs. Provides age-appropriate care for all ages served. Serves the following age groups: Infants (birth - 1 year), Toddlers (1-3 years), Preschooler (3-5 years), School-age (6-11 years), Adolescent (12-20 years), Young Adult (21-30 years).
  • Reviews the budget under the guidance of the manager and provides suggestions and requests based upon the technology needs and changes. Works with the manager in discussions with vendors for training, technology upgrades, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Three (3) years technical experience with routine radiographic and interventional procedures required.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience required.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

  • One of the following is required:
  • (LC: ARRT(R)) Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • OR
  • (LC: RDMS) Registration with ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Supervisor DI Operations.
