Description:

Position Summary
The laboratories of Preetish Murthy and Ameen Salahudeen are seeking a talented PhD graduate to lead a flagship project centering on lung cancer biology and translational research. The candidate will utilize a world class toolset (Murthy et al. Nature 2022; Salahudeen et al. Nature 2020) of single cell and spatial techniques, and model systems of human organoid culture, murine models, and lung cancer patient samples. The candidate will aim to identify novel cell types and mechanisms responsible for tumor progression and immune escape thereby opening up avenues for drug discovery and development. Project success will lead to collaborations with new or existing biotech and pharma partners to increase translation of laboratory findings. The ideal candidate would be productive during the early years of the project to position themselves for a K99 submission should they choose an academic path, or an internship/long-term position in biotech or pharma should they choose the industry path.

    Minimum Qualifications
    MD or PhD in health, biological or chemical sciences
