Become a Project Engineer for GeoStructures, Inc.

Responsibilities
In this position, you will gain experience that many Geotechnical Engineers look for early in their career but rarely find. We are a design-build firm, so you have the opportunity to see the installation of what you design. You earn cradle-to-grave experience in DESIGN, from preliminary design during the sales phase, being innovate during the value engineering phase, and perfecting your work in the final design phase prior to mobilization to the customer's construction site for installation.

This position is more than soil testing or writing geotechnical reports.  You will utilize the geotechnical reports to inform us which solution solves their foundation challenges and perform state-of-the- practice engineering analysis for a variety of geotechnical construction applications. The Project Engineer will produce construction drawings and design calculations for a wide range of ground improvement, earth retention, structural underpinning and ground modification projects.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have an E.I.T. certification, with a Geotechnical Engineering focus or undergraduate Civil Engineering Degree with ground improvement design experience. Knowledge of software packages including LPILE, SLIDE, GSTABL, SETTLE3D, MSEW, and Microsoft Office products are a plus.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Review of project geotechnical data and structural information from a variety of regions encompassing a wide range of geologic settings,
  • Develop preliminary Geopier foundation design concepts using a variety of proprietary ground improvement products, such as 
  • Assisting in cost estimating, design plan and specification review, working closely with sales and construction management staff, and mentoring younger engineering staff.
  • Provide technical direction for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects. Conceptualize the initial design and/or investigative approach for projects with large or moderate scope. Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients; provide technical review of reports.
  • Knowledge of software packages including LPILE, SLIDE, GSTABL, SETTLE3D, MSEW, and Microsoft Office products are a plus.
Physical Requirements 
  • This position works from the Purcellville, VA office with minimal travel.
  • Construction site walk-downs with potential customers to understand services needed
