Position Summary:

The HR Services Representative III - Compliance provides tactical support for employment and regulatory compliance (Form I-9's and E-Verify, timely terminations, unemployment claims and verifications of employment). Additionally, they provide back-up support to HR Services Representatives located at the Mexico Support Center. The successful candidate will exercise significant discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters and data related to Petco and its current and former employees (partners) and will work closely with the HR COEs, HR Business Partners, Legal and field leadership to resolve questions, issues, and requests.

Job Functions:

  • Provide support to ensure organizational compliance with Form I-9, E-Verify and timely terminations

  • Respond timely and accurately to subpoenas, partner file requests, verifications of employment and other requests from Legal

  • Partner with field management and HR to respond to unemployment claims, attend hearings as needed

  • Provide guidance and support to HR partners regarding compliance matters

  • Update partner records with personal information changes and other data entry according to Petco policies and procedures

  • Drive continuous adoption of employee and manager self-service within the organization by helping with navigating internal resources on Human Resources technology tools, policies, and procedures

  • Complete transactional work within HCM (Workday)

  • Assist with data collection and submission for annual VEBA and 401(K) audits

  • Maintain SOPs and other documentation for compliance-related procedures

  • Support training initiatives and provide mentorship and guidance to HR Services Representatives

  • Provide back-up support to HR Services Representatives with management of HRSC phone line

  • Meet or exceed service level agreement metrics regarding commitments to case resolution timeframes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working in Human Resources, Payroll or Benefits

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field or applicable experience

  • Previous HR Service Center case handling experience

  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and HR systems

  • Excellent English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism

  • Previous Workday (HCM) experienced preferred
