Position: Spiral Technician I

Location Gastonia, NC

Pay rate: $19.25/hr.

Shift- Second Hours- 3 PM-11 PM

*Must be willing to work overtime if needed*

The Gastonia plant is looking for a manufacturing production operator with a primary focus for machine set up and monitoring to make tubes. This position is responsible for selecting and loading the paper, adding and adjusting the adhesive, starting the winder and adjusting to meet the specifications for the tube, measuring the parent tubes and adjusting the cut-off, filling and monitoring the ink reservoirs, clearing jams and misfed tubes from the system. This position is also responsible for performing quality checks to verify the product meets physical and appearance requirements, to complete production documentation and maintain cleanliness of machine and work area.

What You'll Be Doing:

• This team member will be responsible for assisting and supporting the carpet yarn line operator and other members of the carpet yarn line crew.
• This position will be required to learn and perform all required machine and support equipment set ups.
• Mechanical skills to operate, set up, and trouble shoot equipment as required will also be needed.
• Ability to operate cutter for carpet yarn tubes.
• This team member will also be required to perform machine preventative maintenance on various pieces of equipment related to the carpet yarn line.
• The CYL assistant operator position will require proficiency level to operate

• Understanding of buildups and tube constructions. Cutter set up procedures.
• Positive attitude. Excellent/strong leadership skills.
• Excellent knowledge of all LOTO requirements.
• Initiative and ability to understand sense of urgency to meet customer requirements. Customer focused.
• Ability to identify cost savings opportunities and communicate to management.
