Job Description

Job Summary: The Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of IT assets, including hardware, software, and other technology resources. This role involves developing and implementing asset management processes, tracking inventory, optimizing asset utilization, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations. A Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI is required for this position. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and IT Asset Management (ITAM) are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement asset management policies, procedures, and processes to ensure effective tracking and management of IT assets.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, licenses, and other technology resources throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.
  • Conduct regular audits and inventory assessments to verify asset data accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Optimize asset utilization and allocation to minimize costs and maximize return on investment.
  • Coordinate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to ensure timely acquisition, deployment, and retirement of assets.
  • Monitor license compliance and usage metrics to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and technology enhancements.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on asset-related metrics, trends, and performance indicators to inform decision-making and resource planning.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to asset management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT asset management or related role.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with asset management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Asset Management).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or equivalent are preferred but not required.
