General Responsibilities |
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Employee is responsible for managing the College's grant accounting, internal controls, invoicing, and financial reporting requirements for all federal, state, local and other grants, including direct lending. Employee will work with the grants coordinator on grant proposals to provide financial guidance for grants. Employee will set up cost centers and budgets; and prepare annual set up and close out of the restricted fund. Employee prepares financial reporting and reviews narrative reports, to ensure compliance with fiscal grant provisions. Employee will also work with grant cost center managers and grant monitors to provide assistance with accounting, budget, reporting, and compliance, as needed. |

Other Knowledge Required | KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED * Bachelor's degree required, Accounting preferred. * Minimum 3 years of experience with grant accounting or equivalent accounting work. * Knowledge of accounting procedures and principles as they relate to all areas assigned. * Extensive experience using computerized accounting software including spreadsheets and word processing software. * Experience with Ellucian's Colleague, Synoptix, and Business Objects, preferred. * Training and certifications related to grant administration preferred; willingness to obtain training and certifications as needed. OTHER REQUIREMENTS * Ability to analyze accounting and administrative systems to ensure accuracy and recommend and initiate modifications if necessary. * Ability to use own initiative to locate and resolve problems. * Ability to coordinate with other areas of the college and external agencies to perform duties. * Ability to interact tactfully and to deal courteously and effectively with others. * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. * Ability to manage multiple projects effectively through prioritization and organization. * Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity. |
