The Associate Senior Counsel will support Howard County General Hospital as part of the Johns Hopkins Health System ("JHHS") and is responsible for the provision of legal advice regarding various legal matters of JHHS and its affiliates. It includes responsibility for the interpretation of laws and regulations specific to assigned practice group. This position also provides support to the General Counsel and the Deputy General Counsel, as needed. Success in the position requires the recognition and understanding of relevant legal principles and restrictions, as well as the ability to understand, articulate, and incorporate strategic and tactical considerations which are consistent with and further the interests of JHHS and its tri-part mission.
Role Accountabilities Include
Education:
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Continuing legal education involving legal seminars, review and study of legal periodicals and review of judicial decisions and legislative enactments and pronouncements.
Work Experience:
A minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of experience at the Bar with professional level of knowledge of Joint Commission standards and other regulatory bodies including the FDA and laws as they relate to clinical operations.
Required Licensure Certification, etc.
Member in good standing of the state Bar, Maryland preferred
CPHRM certificate is preferred
