Test Engineer/Scientist - 24-005 - San Diego, CA


AUSGAR Technologies has a new opportunity for a Test Engineer/Scientist to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in Patuxent River, Maryland.


Serve as a NAVAIR Test Engineer/Scientist supporting the Navy's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Experimentation Cell (DoN SEC) through mentoring, training and facilitation of valid and operationally testable problem statements, hypotheses, experimental objectives, test criteria and all associated planning in Naval experimentation. This will include providing engineering recommendations in support of Limited Technical Assessments (LTA), Limited Objective Experiments (LOE) and live forces events. Specializes in test and evaluation (T&E) and/or experimentation planning for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) events internationally.

Requirements
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college in a technical or research field of study, such as Engineering or Physical Sciences with coursework or Decision Analytics, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Operations Research.
  • Have experience in activities for various segments of program execution, which may include Risk Management, Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis/Trade Studies, Technical Performance Measures, Technical Reviews, Modeling & Simulation.
  • Have expertise in coordinating research and problem-solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across NAWCAD/WD and NAVAIR Program Offices.
  • Expected travel up to 25%.

Experience, Knowledge, and Capabilities:

  • Experience with Naval concepts and/or strategic & tactical functions, naval operations at the operational and tactical level of war.
  • Experience with Department of Defense/military experimentation, wargaming, modeling and simulation and/or test and evaluation.
  • Experience in analysis planning, test issue resolution, post-test data analysis or scientific research.
  • Experience with developing data collection and analysis methodologies to ensure that all test data collected is of enough quantity, quality and relevancy to meet test objectives.
  • Ability to identify and coordinate requirements and resources needed to conduct technological research and development activities in laboratory, field and operational environments.
  • Ability to guide customers and experimentation venue personnel through test plan, scenario, vignette and operational module development.
  • Ability to guide customers on creating Data Collection and Analysis Plans (DCAP).
  • Ability to analyze, summarize and report on technical and conceptual collected data.
  • Ability to document findings of experimental events and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures or organizational changes.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects involving complex technologies and multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain service-wide relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, tools and procedures within the scientific and experimental research community.
  • Knowledge of mathematics, statistical and engineering methods in determining solutions to complex problems.
