Job Summary: The Benefits Analyst will provide project management support to benefits initiatives across the Enterprise. The Analyst will gather, develop, coordinate and maintain business processes associated with all benefit plans. The Analyst will partner with the Total Rewards team members to ensure the Plans are compliant, cost effective, consistent and aligned with the Inovalon employment brand, culture and wellness initiatives. This position will interact with HR functional area leaders, related department (Payroll, Legal and Finance) leaders and vendors for full life cycle of projects and complex benefits inquiries. The Analyst will partner with internal and external resources to address audits, plan designs, accounting/reconciliation, projections and risk analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate general day-to-day administration of benefit programs including COBRA, annual and monthly HSA funding, workers compensation claims, and ACA monitoring;
  • Maintain and post Summary Plan Descriptions, SMMs and other required notices timely and keep the compliance calendar up-to-date;
  • Prepare, audit and correct data for government filings such as Form 5500, Form 1094/1095, Summary Annual Reports, OSHA, and Non-Discrimination Testing;
  • Participate in system configuration, set-up, testing and maintenance of internal HR systems as well as vendor systems ensuring data integrity and accuracy;
  • Produce and maintain documentation related to the administrative benefit processes and policies ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations (i.e. ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, Secure Act, etc.);
  • Resolve escalated benefits issues for associates by interpreting benefit plan documents and policies to resolve coverage issues;
  • Prepare and submit funding to each state retirement plan within the required timeframe and monitor for any newly enacted legislation;
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of employee benefits communication materials including plan documents, intranet, website and open enrollment;
  • Administer rewards and recognition programs that acknowledge associates who exemplify Inovalon's company values and shape our culture;
  • Back-up for New Hire Benefits Orientation;
  • Partner with team members to plan and deliver annual open enrollment;
  • Performs other special projects as necessary;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of benefits administration, analyst or lead analyst experience required including development, implementation, optimization, integration and project management;
  • Highly motivated self-starter who has demonstrated successful experience in benefits administration;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and charts) and proficient in Word and PowerPoint skills;
  • Ability to generate and analyze reports and spreadsheets (i.e. identify and correct errors, evaluate and resolve issues);
  • Team player supporting the HR department as well as internal clients;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated customer service skills; and
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include approximately 5%, typically for training purposes.
