Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent for its Austin 549 operations based in Austin, TX. This individual will be responsible for the following duties.

Primary

    Writing and maintaining all Purchase Orders
  • Monitor email box for PO requests
  • Maintaining Pricing within PCI's PO system
  • Collaborate with Operations to closeout all POs
  • Communicates with vendors on process improvements, concerns/issues
  • Works with warehouse manager as needed for material purchasing
  • Supports A/P admin as needed - pick up/will call PO's, PO corrections, etc.
  • Maintain Under 1,000 purchase order log
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered.
  • Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.

Secondary

  • Assist and provide support to Project Team, as needed
  • Respond to incoming callers and visitors with excellent customer service skills
  • Responsible for ordering office supplies and maintaining inventory
  • Assist with Responsible for on-site catering and general coordination duties for meetings and events
  • Assist maintaining equipment logs
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships
Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or related discipline, or comparable work experience
  • 2+ years of construction experience, with 1+ year of purchasing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of:
    • Material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures
    • Negotiating best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
    • Warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:

  • General knowledge of trade tools, equipment and materials used in the construction industry
  • Must have strong organization skills and high attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter and able to multitask
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment, particularly on a project site/office trailer environment
  • Strong oral and written communication capabilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Display critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Possess willingness to seek out additional responsibilities and professional development opportunities
  • Must have flexibility related to scheduling and hours (start and end time may occasionally vary)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Construction industry knowledge or experience
  • Experience with managing purchase orders
  • Local to Austin Metro area
