What does the job involve?
Summary:
The employee is part of the Design Engineering Team and shall serve as a stress analysis and mechanical design subject matter expert supporting a variety of projects. The employee will work unsupervised approximately 75%+ of the time.
SSP's product line is primarily high-pressure, high-temperature pneumatic and fluid lines for aerospace applications. Markets served include domestic and foreign commercial, military, and space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
There are two primary job functions: Detailed component design and FEA-based stress analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. The employee is expected to help train and mentor junior employees as applicable.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Fine manipulation of the hand sufficient to operate a computer is required. The employee is occasionally required to bend at the waist and squat. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
The employee works in an office environment, organized in an open cubicle design. On occasion, the employee will work with people on the manufacturing floor, or in the Engineering Test Lab.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety glasses and safety shoes are required outside of office areas at all times. Earplugs are required in specific manufacturing areas and in the Engineering Test Lab.
