General Summary:

  • Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years instrument processing experience required at a proficient level in all areas to include sterilization and set assembly
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) OR Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
