Purpose of Position
This role will oversee the Center for Student Engagement. It will include oversight and direct advising of a number of areas including but not limited to Fraternity and Sorority Life, Leadership programs, student organizations, service, Activities Program Board, Homecoming and Victorfest.

Provide direct supervision to professional staff of four (4), various student employees and a graduate assistant. Attend programs and events outside of normal business hours, this includes evenings and weekends.

Create and cultivate partnerships with staff, faculty, alumni, and community members that focus on student success and developing a sense of belonging. Work to develop new and innovative programs that will reach on-line students, adult and transfer students.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight for large-scale student engagement programming and events. This includes but is not limited to Freshfusion, VictorFest, and Homecoming

  • Provide direct oversight for all leadership programs, organizations and retreats associated with the Northern Kentucky Leadership Institute including off campus leadership retreats

  • Direct advisement and management of Fraternity and Sorority Life and all programmatic and policy activities associated with the community. Oversee IFC, NPC, NPHC, and MGC.

  • Provide oversight to all registered student organizations, approximately 150 groups from 9 areas of engagement.

  • Ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives are embedded in all elements of student organizations and programming

  • Budget oversight for 9 departmental budgets

  • Develop and implement departmental mission and strategic plan in alignment with the division and University

  • Serve on divisional and University task forces and special initiatives
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, Public Administration or a related field and 4 years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of student development theory and practice.
  • Understanding of current trends in the needs and experiences of Fraternity and Sorority communities required.
  • Knowledge of student leadership program development.
  • Familiarity with university administrative practices and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to prepare and present special projects with little or no supervision or oversight.
  • Experience with student organization management platforms.
  • Display an ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing situations.
