The Global Health Training, Advisory and Support Contract (GHTASC) delivers effective global health programming to advance the mission of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Global Health (GH) through institutional support and workforce development services from junior, mid-level, senior and expert advisory and administrative professionals.
B. Position Summary:
The Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Advisor will primarily support the Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Office as a PHI Institutional Support Contractor (ISC). In this role, the selected candidate will provide USAID with programmatic and technical expertise in water, sanitation, hygiene, and other areas of environmental health as these relate to public health, and particularly to child survival.

Full salary range for this position is $94,900 to $147,940 per year, with the starting salary determined based on candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.
C. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance and expertise, including assisting with the preparation and/or review of strategies and plans to address needs at the global and country level.
Serve as subject matter expert to USAID and its partners.
Contribute to the routine work, including providing technical updates, briefers and other documents that describe USAID's activities, research and progress; prepare portfolio reviews and reports; review documents such as annual reports and operational plans; and prepare responses to Q&As and other requests for information.
Provide technical advice to ensure that country programs are consistent with current practice, international standards and recommendations.
Contribute public health expertise and participate in working groups and task forces. Review and synthesize information about USAID programs, to identify operational priorities and make recommendations.
Prepare and submit papers to professional journals, conferences, and meetings.
Work at least 3 days per week in-person at Washington, DC office.
Conduct international travel approximately 20-30% of the time.
