About your Role:

As our Housing Specialist, you will meet with the client to assess their situation, learn what is hindering them from finding appropriate housing, and determine their financial situation. After housing is established, this position works to educate the client on budgeting, build the landlord/tenant and neighbor relationships, and focus on daily living skills such as housecleaning. You will act as an advocate, skill trainer, community service link, and develops/implements the clients treatment plan. This position includes client transportation as needed and one week on-call rotation, handled virtually or in person, depending on the situation. For optimal client success, you will meet with clients in the local community primarily, with approximately 20% of your time spent in the office or via zoom/phone.

Does the following apply to you?

  • Bachelors Degree in a Social Service or related field i.e. Psychology, Social Work or Mental Health field
  • Licensed in D.C. as LGSW/ LICSW, LGPC/ LPC or Psychologist/ Psych Associate: OR
  • Similarly licensed in other states and willing to become endorsed in DC; OR PACT approved
  • Valid Drivers license and automobile insurance

Preferred but not required:

  • 2 years experience of working with severely mentally ill in ACT or TACT programs
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

ACT is a specialty service that involves a multidisciplinary team approach offered in the adults natural setting. Focused on helping those who have not been successfully engaged in services and/or those who have not benefited from traditional mental health services for individuals aged 25 and older.

Transitional Assertive Community Treatment (TACT)

TACT is a subset of ACT, serves consumers from 18-29. TACT help those who have not been successfully engaged in services and/or those who have not benefited from traditional mental health services.
