Specific Responsibilities

The mission of the MSTP is to provide MAGTF level training across the range of military operations, within the context of a Joint and/or Combined Task Force environment, to improve the warfighting skills, with the main effort of providing training and support.

Applied Training Solutions (ATS) is seeking an Aviation/CAOC Analyst to support the Marine Air Ground Task Force Staff Training program (MSTP), The Aviation/CAOC Analyst provides functional subject matter expertise to examine and assess MAGTF level organizations, identifies friction points, offer solutions, and draft procedures for improvement as an Observer, Trainer and Collector. Conduct observation by assessing MAGTF processes, reviewing operation orders and procedures. Plans, develops, coordinates and delivers operational-level, regionally focused MAGTF relevant instruction, training and education, Supports the Brigadier General Selection Orientation Course (BGSOC) Senior-Leader Seminars, the Marine Corp University (MCU), and other service schools. Captures relevant data and processes through observation, analyzes information, records findings in a final after-action report and final exercise evaluation report.

Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Must be a prior military pilot or navigator/Naval Flight Officer/Electronic Warfare Officer/Electronic Countermeasures Officer
  • Knowledge of, and operational experience, deploying and employing ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of, and operational experience with, military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the operational command level.
  • Possesses detailed and functional knowledge of the Marine Corps and joint/combined Planning Process and Marine Corps and joint doctrine related to air operations.
  • Senior staff planning experience in Joint Operations Planning Process and/or the Marine Corps Planning Process at a COCOM, JTF, MEF, Wing, or AOC supporting air operations.
  • Experience in a Joint/Combined Air Operations Center (J/CAOC)
  • Experience writing orders in the USMC and Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) format.
  • Knowledge of command-and-control systems related to Air Tasking Order processes.
  • Completion of an appropriate level of professional military education such as Command and Staff College or War College.
  • Knowledge of, and operational experience, deploying and employing aviation and/or aviation support units.
  • Knowledge of, and operational experience, with military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the operational command level.

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Mid/Senior-Level - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent w/ 15+ Years Direct Relevant Experience
  • Experience with integrating air operations into USMC/Joint exercises.
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Normal Office Environment

Travel

  • 35%, primarily to Camp Lejeune, NC; Camp Pendleton, CA; and Okinawa
