About the Role

The Senior Manager, North America Distribution & Logistics will lead the operational execution of distribution, transportation, and warehousing activities in North America, primarily in the USA and Mexico. The scope of responsibility includes regional inbound supply chain network design and execution control, as well as North American regional distribution center operations, physical inventory management, and order fulfillment execution including outbound logistics. The candidate is responsible for 3PL and 4PL operational performance, customer satisfaction with HARMAN's delivery performance, and has ownership over distribution logistics-related costs. The position directly leads distribution logistics and R&D warehouses in the USA and supports manufacturing and Engineering logistics.

The successful candidate is a leader who builds a network of trust internally and externally, based on HARMAN's values and professional service and physical delivery. This experienced leader should be a solution-based thinker who can anticipate problems and collaborate with appropriate groups within and outside of the organization to develop solutions that improve the process, reduce cost, and enhance the customer experience. With a continuous improvement mindset, the person should work with external suppliers and internal functions, and design and implement processes and optimization initiatives.

About Your Team

The position coordinates teams of multi-level operations in the USA and Mexico. The total organization is approximately 10 employees.

What You Will Do

  • Lead regional distribution in North America to enable monthly, quarterly & yearly revenue recognition targets, meet and improve distribution costs and inventory levels, and lead customer order fulfillment in the region.
  • Lead transportation operations for Professional Solutions globally. Focus on network optimization, inbound transportation optimization, and outbound transportation costs and network. Measure service provider KPIs. Represent the Business Unit in cross-divisional transportation sourcing events.
  • Manage and control physical inventory, identify and drive opportunities to improve net working capital.
  • Lead the development of internal systems and business processes in functional areas. Ensure innovation, digital supply chain solutions, and new channel fulfillment and communications technologies are deployed to provide a signature customer experience. Improve existing process quality feedback loop to ensure issues are communicated, root cause analysis, and formal corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Actively interact with key customers and suppliers (internal / external) to find the best logistics options for the partnership to provide more value in the supply chain.
  • Lead and coach teams to handle global and regional logistics, distribution, inventory, and order fulfillment functions. Engage in talent and professional development across the organization. Foster skills development in supply chain management, data, and analytics.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or another related field, or equivalent experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, and/or operations management.
  • Minimum of 10 year of supply chain and Logistics with a preference in transportation, distribution, and warehousing.Experience managing 3PLs a plus.
  • Experienced in business process design, documentation, and process change management.
  • Knowledge of SAP and/or other ERP/MRP.
  • Data-oriented mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Prior leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
