About the Role

As Sr. Manager, Product Management, Zoned Audio, you would be responsible for driving global product management activities of car audio amplifier platforms.

The Senior Software as a Product Manager leads a global matrix team of experts to drive and define the Product, Platform strategy, and GTM plans for Mixed Reality Zonal Audio products. You will create and develop consumer-centric product roadmaps, define innovative business models across the Car Audio Software as a Product portfolio, and align those with HARMAN's greater Automotive portfolio.

You will create compelling and differentiated product propositions based on market needs, consumer segments, customer needs, and technical feasibility, aligned to overarching product strategy; while ensuring product delivery from ideation to core product release. This position will drive revenue and margin expansion of existing and new product lines by partnering closely with HARMAN customer groups including pricing strategies through the Car Audio business unit.

While this is an individual contributor role, you will be expected to lead with influence and work with cross-functional team members drawn from all relevant functions within the business in a matrix organization. This team will be empowered and aligned around company objectives. Excellent communication and leadership skills will be key to success.


What You Will Do

  • Directly responsible for Product Definition, Market and Product Requirements definition and documents (including go-to-market plans), Business case development for reference products, product-related budget forecasting, and matrix management of Engineering teams developing the reference platform and products.

  • Define a Mixed Reality Personal Audio Product Portfolio that enables the Car Audio Business Unit to exceed its 2025 business targets and align with market insights.

  • With OEM customer and consumer needs in mind, analyze appropriate customer insights, market data, technology, product trends, and competitive landscape; determine necessary consumer and market studies, Proofs of Concept, and research projects to define user stories and use cases to translate into product requirements.

  • Define, develop, and curate a 5-year detailed rolling iterative product roadmap and release calendar for each product that allows HARMAN to lead in the market.

  • Identify the Go-To-Market approach and plan, including reference business case, and recommended pricing; work with customer groups to create customer-specific roadmaps, pursuit plans, and support RFQs

  • Manage structured reviews and adapt the scope of product concepts based on established product requirements, product maturity, corporate strategy, and market opportunities

  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver product activity estimates and deliverables with quick time-to-market and optimal resources

  • Work with the Business Development team to Develop and maintain an ecosystem of partners that contribute to HARMAN's business model and position in the value chain

  • Define Make vs Buy options in upcoming technology areas that may be of interest to the Business Unit as part of its growth strategies

  • Work with Finance Controlling and Engineering groups to define and control the overall reference business case and budget on platform and product investments for the BU.

  • Work with marketing and business pursuit teams, craft training documentation, craft an effective marketing pitch, launch, and activation materials, and support showcasing product solutions at different venues like CES, Geneva, and Technology days.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • 10+ years of experience in Automotive Product Management or closely related area

  • Experience in Automotive electronic hardware development

  • Experience in Automotive Software Audio

  • Strong Business Acumen, knowledge of business case development, and financial metrics

  • Experience working in a global organization or on a global product

  • Strong skills in communication, presentation, and problem-solving (both customer and internal)

What is Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of hardware and software development best practices

  • Knowledge of managing electronic device platforms

  • Know-how of automotive audio systems

  • Documentation and ticket management experience via Aha!, Jira, and Confluence

  • Master's in Business Administration
