About the Role

In the capacity of a Global Account Manager at Amazon, your primary duty will be to profitably increase Amazon sell-out and sell-in for Harman products. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of Amazon merchandising, selling, advertising, and operations in order to support the sales and profitability objectives of the regional and global teams. In this role, you will engage in collaborative efforts with regional and global teams from Harman and Amazon in order to enhance operations, brand messaging, advertising, content, and search engine rankings. Collaborate with the Amazon global team to eliminate obstacles for the Harman regional teams pertaining to parallel import and brand protection, and implement/optimize programs that increase profitability, efficiency, and sell-out. Create, maintain, and distribute global performance reports for Amazon to key stakeholders.

Reporting:

You will report to the Sr. Dir., Global Ecommerce.

As this is a hands-on position supporting Amazon account's global initiatives, you will be working independently, however, you will have the support of multiple teams where possible (i.e. analytics, regional sales, advertising, operations, digital shelf and content teams)in order to accomplish your objectives.


What You Will Do

  • Optimize and drive the execution of Amazon commercial strategy & sales plans across the globe in close partnership with regional Amazon Account Managers & leadership.

  • Manage and build relationship with regional and global Amazon Merchant and Advertising team to deliver annual sales and profit targets and establish short and long-term sales goals for the category.

  • Provide P&L oversight to maximize profitability by growing top line sales and managing selling expenses.

  • Maintain and be involved in regional Amazon vendor negotiations, help set regional best practices for allowances.

  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to drive operational efficiency & profitability initiatives.

  • Collaborate with various market teams to share opportunities and solutions for challenges.

  • Oversee brand protection, parallel import and collaborate with key stakeholders to remedy problems.

  • Optimize agency relationship for Amazon Advertising and set the strategy to improve performance globally.

  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to drive advertising & content best practices including SEO, product launches and promotion exclusives to drive stronger sell-out.

  • In collaboration with the Harman regional teams, finance, marketing, operations and analytics teams as well as Amazon global teams, configure, setup, and manage the Amazon performance metric tracking dashboards for global markets. Serve as the company's Amazon expert.

  • Collaborate cross functionally with brand marketing to help define go-to-market strategies from product concept to product launch through analysis and research to meet customer needs.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the Amazon space, and continuously evaluate and make recommendations for improving the Amazon strategy.

  • Maintain reports and participate in monthly/quarterly/annual business reviews meetings.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Amazon Account Management on the 1P side (vendor-central).

  • Deep understanding of Amazon strategies and related challenges.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Vendor and Seller central platforms.

  • Flexibility to work with various time zones given the global nature of this role.

  • Experience with Digital shelf analytics tools, product data management tools and processes.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strategic thinking disciplined creative passion, and a willingness to be hands-on.

  • High energy, positive can-do attitude, and self-motivated.

  • High degree of organization, accuracy, flexibility and detail-oriented.

  • Team player and collaborative.

What is Nice to Have

  • Worked with Amazon directly.

  • Experience on the Amazon 3P side (seller-central).

  • Operational knowledge of distribution related to Amazon inventory in 1P setting.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 35%, domestic and international travel.

  • Be willing to work 3-5 days a month at one of the the Harman offices: Northridge, CA, San Francisco, CA, Novi, MI, or Stamford, CT.

  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
