Job Description

Grace is looking for an I&E Technician to work at our Curtis Bay/Baltimore, MD manufacturing site. The I&E Technician requires technical and practical knowledge in the field of Industrial Electricity and Instrumentation.You will be required to work a rotating shift schedule, which will include working nights, weekends, overtime and holidays as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities
  • Installs, connects, disconnects, removes, tests, calibrates, and repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic measuring, controlling, recording, and indicating systems and equipment.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment, and inspects components for defects; repairs, replaces component parts and circuitry, and reassembles.
  • Performs preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance as required to maintain equipment in optimal condition.
  • Assists engineers and supervisors in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain equipment and problem solve process variation issues.
  • Uses various hardware and software technologies such as, but not limited to, SAP, EDMS, Data Loggers, calibrators, Infrared Cameras as tools to support craft functionality
  • Prepares and uses sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and other drawings.
  • Comply with all plant environmental, health, safety, and process safety standards and procedures. Report hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures and quality standards as well as participate in quality and process improvement initiatives as required.
  • Maintains timely compliance on all safety, health, environmental, and training initiatives.
  • Performs general housekeeping and maintains orderliness.
  • Provides job feedback to supervisor or leader.
  • Completes all training requirements and regulatory testing and attend safety meetings as required.
  • Supports Maintenance Excellence and Productivity initiatives.
  • Participates in training initiatives to maintain and improve skills. Assists others with training initiatives as required. Completes required testing within specified time frames.
  • May be asked to assist in additional tasks when accompanied by an I&E 1st class or a Supervisor as part of their OJT training other OJT may be assigned.
Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Candidates must successfully pass a computer based test prior to being invited for an interview
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience working with industrial instrumentation and/or as a commercial or industrial electrician
  • Provide documentation supporting completion of acceptable training in Instrumentation (e.g. ISA CCST Level II or qualified in-house program, or Academic Degree in related technology)
  • Provide documentation supporting completion of acceptable training for an electrician (e.g. Journeyman program, trade school, or qualified in-house program)
