Overview

The Digital Editions Analyst participates in the design and display of content ensuring written content aligns with enterprise brand strategy and brand architecture. Works with editors and editorial production to make sure designs are properly executed for publishing technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Directs and designs print and digital layouts as well as photo selections and retouching, with oversight from senior staff.
  • Conceptualizes and executes layouts and prepares files for print and digital production.
  • Collaborates with the photo department on visuals and works with editors and production staff to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinates print layouts with other assigned design projects (print or digital).
  • Provides input contracts for illustrators, uploads illustrations to CMS, aids in award submissions, and additional small administrative tasks as needed.
  • Supports quality control productions by actively participating proofing parties before files are released.
  • Develops creative presentations for key stakeholders and providers.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in mobile design principles and user experience (UX) with proficiency in workflow management to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Immersive story-telling experience.
  • Strong editorial experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator with experience with Google Sheets, Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, GIFs, animation, HTML, and CSS, as well as familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Experience collaborating effectively with third-party vendors and managing vendor contracts and mobile font license renewals (knowledge of MSWord is a plus).
  • Strong ability to perform mobile quality analysis and technical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in narrative visual storytelling for web and mobile platforms.
  • Must have a strong proficiency in visual and interactive design. Also have a clear understanding of typography, layout, color, motion, and behavior.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
