Responsibilities

We are seeking a CM Manager to support the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract for our NASA customer based in Greenbelt, MD (GSFC). This position will allow for 100% telework, with 20% travel to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and other NASA locations, as needed.

As prime contractor on the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. Join the SENSE team to support NASA programs that integrate with state-of-the-art RF satellite communications systems and technologies. In this position, you will become part of NASA's return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements.

Your specific duties will include but are not limited to:

    Develop and maintain the program-wide Configuration Management capability, including policies, plans, processes, and tools.
  • Implement and maintain a Configuration Management Database, integrated with other ITSM tools, and including the relationships between configuration items.
  • Ensure creation and maintenance of baselines and version control for hardware, software, and documentation supporting operational networks.
  • Track compliance through monitoring and periodic audits; and resolve compliance issues.
  • Establish and maintain integration with Asset Management, Change Management, Systems Engineering, and Application Development processes and tools.
  • Implement CM disciplines for the product life-cycles of hardware, software, and network systems from initial requirement and capability to end-of-life.
  • Maintain configuration data security, quality, and integrity.
  • Implement metrics to demonstrate current health of the Configuration Management capability and progressive improvement.
  • Evaluate the current change management processes and tools and their integration with the configuration and asset management processes.
  • Supervise team of CM practitioners across the program.
Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical Engineering field and 10+ years' directly related experience; without a degree, 14+ years of related experience with AS/technical training may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in building a Configuration Management capability and CMDB in a complex operational environment at a supervisory and leadership level.
  • Experience and understanding of ITIL framework and its application to Configuration Management, and familiarity with CM tools.
  • Security clearance: the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires a US citizenship.

Desired Experience:

  • An active Secret clearance
  • ITIL Certification
  • Prior experience working with NASA programs and projects.
  • Experience integrating diverse CM systems into an enterprise CM solution.
  • Experience with Service Now CMDB modules.
  • Experience with CMMI processes.
  • Ability to work under challenging timelines with ambiguity in a complex environment.
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and independently as a proactive self-starter.
  • Excellent organizational skills such as prioritizing and completing multiple tasks within critical deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, written and oral.

Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
