The Construction Steering Specialist:

  • Collaborates on construction projects of buildings, infrastructure, and utilities in the Americas Region to support production requirements.
  • Leads and steers national capital projects from design to handover of building structures and infrastructure according to the requirements of the technologies (Body/Paint/Assembly) or projects in the Americas Region and according to any relevant project KPI (Budget/Schedule/ Quality).
  • Leads and monitors the project environment, identifiing efficient and sustainable solutions for the project organization.
  • Facilitates the Space Provision Process related projects for construction which involves leading project management teams to erect building structures and infrastructure according to design premises, defined costs, and schedule dates to ensure quality and SOP requirements.
  • Presents project recommendations, leading the implementation of approved changes.
  • Collaborates with procurement, initiates escalation when necessary, and represents the project within the Building Projects Organization to both internal and external interface partners in order to achieve targets.
  • Contains project costs, cash flows, schedules, and quality of construction projects while ensuring achievement of project SOP.
  • Collaborates on the design and implementation of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Provides recommendation on the selection and contract completion for local planners and CM firms. Ensures construction quality, safety, and site organization and cleanliness meet all SOP standards.
  • Facilitates between client and external contractor to resolve issues. Implements corporate and sustainability strategy into assigned projects.
  • Consults on the development of building structures, while minimizing capital expenditures.
  • Coordinates the implementation of Corporate Identity furniture and artwork standards in the planning and delivery of building projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Construction Management (preferred) OR the equivalent of 4 years project management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects to include 2+ years experience in construction project management, budget planning, scheduling and quality management.
  • Experience in international and intercultural projects (preferred).
  • 5+ years of presentation and communication skills.
  • 5+ years Microsoft Office skills, to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as proven through business application.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated willingness and ability to develop innovative means and methods to achieve department objectives.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • 1+ years of Intercultural understanding and international flexibility.
  • 1+ years analysis, assessment and mitigatation of construction risks and related technical and operational consequences.
  • 3+ years of fluent Spanish and German language skills both written and verbal (preferred).
