Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Jr. Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our headquarters team supporting the Accounting/Finance department.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare invoices for billable projects monthly or as needed: ensure accurate reporting of hours / costs in the invoices to customers; maintain billing / project related information in the accounting system.
  • Process account payable transactions in accounting system; ensure accuracy of each bill and proper GL classification.
  • Ensure correct / timely application of customer payments in accounting system and maintain and report on accounts receivable reports.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing pricing files in proposals.
  • Process / assist certain monthly closing and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports; assist with financial audits.
  • Prepare and update contract financial reports to meet management and regulatory agency requests.
  • Update contract documents / information in accounting system.
  • Prepare various general ledger accounts reconciliation.
  • Assist with various Fed/State/Local Government and/or agencies' registrations and filings.
  • Assist with research to resolve any discrepancies in accounting records.
  • Assist with responding to data requests from internal or external third parties.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Understand and adhere to company's accounting / general policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Entry level or 0-1 years' experience in Government Contracting accounting
Required and Desired Skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Experience with Government Contracting accounting required.
  • Experience with Unanet software is highly preferred.
