Job Title: Solutions Architect
Location: Arlington, VA and Remote (Onsite 2 days a week in VA required)
Clearance Required: US Citizen & DHS Public Trust (EOD)

As cloud technologies become increasingly complex, the services of architects are essential to help an organization manage its computing architecture. Here at Alpha Omega Integration, LLC (Alpha Omega) we are looking for a Solutions Architect that will help our government clients migrate and take full advantage of offerings.

The responsibility of the Solutions Architect may include managing front-end platforms, servers, storage, and delivery and networks required to manage cloud storage and on-premise workstreams. The position will focus on establishing an enterprise roadmap for the maturing and migrating of enterprise systems from a parent Federal organization to Department resources which includes the policies, standards and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.

The Solutions Architect serves as the main subject matter expert for enterprise architecture design, governance, quality, and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership / stakeholders to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creation and management of HSI System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation
  • Responsible for the management of HSI's Confluence Knowledge Management Pages
  • Parse existing documents and artifacts for key information and preferred language; to then be applied to new documentation
  • Ensuring consistency with all documentation and messaging
  • Establish and govern an enterprise system governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities for the enterprise as well as migration of services.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to comprehend solution problems and identify opportunities
  • Work together with a team of application developers, engineers, and designers to deliver innovative technology solutions using on-premise, AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud services
  • Responsible for collecting and defining technical requirements to enable business process and integrations
  • Establish an approximate level-of-effort and staffing requirements for complex development projects
  • Lead the team of engineers and IT specialists to design effective, efficient, scalable, and secure applications within the organization's Cloud and on-premises software platform
  • Ensure that solutions created by the development team stick to technical architecture standards
  • Responsible for writing and reviewing standards, code and also contributing to all technical discussions and architecture planning
  • Note down and maintain clear documentation and standards for cloud operations in the organization
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technology trends and promote an environment of learning
  • Responsible for monitoring the production environment and advance the obtainable monitoring setup as needed
  • Sustain performance and availability of production systems in the AWS or Azure Government and Commercial cloud infrastructures to achieve optimal uptime.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience required in an IT development environment.
  • 2-3 years of experience writing System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale or project management and oversight experience.
  • 3+ years in a Solutions Architect role, with transformation leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to cyber security and data protection
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
  • Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions
  • Internally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are done

Required Education:

  • Bachelors or Master's in Computer Science, MIS, or Information Management
